הכנס הבינלאומי בנושא הגירה ושילוב חברתי מתקיים במרכז האקדמי רופין, בין 21 – 23 במאי.

 הכנס הוא חלק מפעילותו של המכון להגירה ושילוב חברתי, שהוקם לפני כשש שנים במרכז האקדמי רופין.

בכנס משתתפים גורמים בינלאומיים רבים ומגוונים וחוקרים ידועים ומובילים בתחום מהארץ ומרחבי העולם, בהם: פרופ' משה סמיונוב מאוני' ת"א והמרכז האקדמי רופין - יו"ר הועדה האקדמית הבינלאומית של הכנס; פרופ' סרג'ו דלה-פרגולה- האוניברסיטה העברית; גרהאם פרייזר הנציב הקנדי לשפות רשמיות; פרופ' בארי צ'יזוויק, ארה"ב, מגדולי החוקרים בעולם בתחום כלכלת הגירה וחתן הפרס היוקרתי –IZA Prize in Labor Economics; פרופ' מרתה טיינדה, אוניברסיטת פרינסטון, ארה"ב, מחשובות החוקרים בעולם בתחום ההגירה; פרופ' ריצ'רד לואיס, אוני' בריסטול, בלגיה; פול האנט - שגריר קנדה בישראל; ויליאם טול הנציג הרשמי של  UNHCRבישראל, מר נחום איצקוביץ, מנכ"ל משרד הרווחה; מר נתן שרנסקי, יושב ראש הסוכנות היהודית ועוד. משתתפים בכנס גם אנשי ממשל ונציגי עמותות מישראל.

בכנס, אשר מתקיים בשפה האנגלית (בתרגום סימולטני בחלקו), כ-80 דוברים ממדינות שונות ובהם: ישראל, קנדה, איטליה, בלגיה, בריטניה, ארצות-הברית, פיליפינים, גרמניה, שבדיה, הולנד ועוד. 

במהלך הכנס יערך ערב הוקרה לסוכנות היהודית ופועלה בתחום העלייה והשילוב החברתי ולהקת התיאטרון האפריקאי-ישראלי תעלה הצגה על-פי מחזה מאת וולה סוינקה, ניגריה, חתן פרס נובל לספרות לשנת 1986. ההצגה תלווה במוזיקה מקורית שנכתבה על ידי ארקדי דוכין.
