המועצה האקדמית העליונה של שנקר בחרה בפרופ' יעל מוריה לעמוד בראש המחלקה לעיצוב פנים, מבנה וסביבה בשנקר. מוריה, המכהנת כיום כפרופ' חבר בפקולטה לאדריכלות ובינוי ערים בטכניון, השלימה בהצטיינות לימודי תואר שני בארכיטקטורה ובינוי ערים בפוליטכניק של קטלוניה, ספרד, ותואר ראשון באדריכלות נוף בטכניון.

כלים

ב-15 השנים האחרונות לימדה במוסדות המובילים בארץ, בהם האקדמיה לאמנויות "בצלאל", אוניברסיטת תל-אביב והאוניברסיטה הפתוחה, כמו גם באוניברסיטה של פירנצה. בתוך כך, היא מובילה יחד עם מעצב הנוף דוד סקלי את המשרד המשגשג "מוריה-סקלי: אדריכלות נוף".

חברי הוועדה ציינו כי "בחירתה של פרופ' מוריה היא פועל יוצא של ניסיון עשיר במיוחד בפיתוח ובניהול פרויקטים סביבתיים בקנה מידה נרחב, כמו גם עיסיוק מתמשך בנושאים אקדמיים וציבוריים".  עם הצטרפותה לשנקר תסיים פרופ' מוריה את עבודתה בטכניון ותצמצם מעורבותה במשרד בו היא שותפה.

פרופ' יעל מוריה תחליף בתפקידה את ראש המחלקה היוצא, פרופ' שרגא קירשנר.
