אני מודע לכך שאני צועד היישר אל תוך שדה קוצים, שלא לאמר שדה מוקשים של ממש. כי הפעם אני הולך לדבר על תקשורת ופוליטיקה, נכון יותר, על אתיקה בתקשורת ופוליטיקה. כי בפוליטיקה עצמה, אני מודה שאינני מבין דבר וחצי דבר (תמיד התרחקתי ממנה כמו מאש). גם במערכות צבא אינני מבין, ופליאה היא בעיניי כיצד בכלל קרה שבשלהי שירותי הצבאי, זכיתי לעלות לדרגת רב"ט. הייתי אז בטוח ש"שרביט הרמטכ"ל" כבר מונח בתרמילי, ועם מאמץ קטן אני עוד עשוי להיות "הרמטכ"ל המרוקאי" הראשון, אף כי בן גוריון עצמו העדיף משום מה דווקא "רמטכ"ל תימני" ולא מרוקאי. אבל צחוק בצד, אני באמת לא מבין לא בזה ולא בזה. יש שיאמרו שזאת מעלה ויש שיאמרו שזו מגרעת. אני לכשעצמי סבור שזו אינה בהכרח מגרעת
