dorit_harelדורית הראל, (1951-2007), מעצבת בעלת שם, השאירה את חותמה במוזיאונים, מרכזי מבקרים ותערוכות ברחבי הארץ והעולם. גולת הכותרת של עבודתה הייתה עיצוב מחדש של "המוזיאון ההיסטורי לתולדות השואה" ביד ושם, שנחנך במארס 2005 ועליו קיבלה את פרס העיצוב לאותה השנה

במסגרת מדיניות אוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב לחזק את קשריה עם הציבור הישראלי יזמה אגודת הידידים מפגשים של אישים מהקהילה העיסקית והציבורית בבתי הידידים בהשתתפותם של חוקרים בכירים מסגל האוניברסיטה. בני הזוג אתי וכפיר לוצאטו אירחו בביתם בעומר, את המפגש הראשון במסגרת סידרת ה"סלונים המדעיים"
