Heftziba_marbel_smallבעקבות אישור הועדה המחוזית לתכנון ובניה מחוז צפון, את התב"ע (תכנית בנין עיר) לשיקום מחצבת אביטל, המשתרעת על 40 דונם, בסמוך להר אביטל בצפון רמת הגולן, יחלו הקרן לשיקום מחצבות בשיתוף מועצה אזורית גולן ומשרד התיירות בשיקום המחצבה הנטושה בהשקעה של 2 מיליון שקלים. בשנת 2009 הושקעו 12.7 מיליון שקלים בטיפול ושיקום 33 מחצבות נטושות
