במטרה להמשיך ולמגר את תופעת שכחת הילדים ברכב: ח"כ ד"ר יפעת שאשא-ביטון (כולנו), יו"ר וועדה לזכויות הילד, הגישה הצעת חוק, לפיה אם ילד לא מגיע לגן או למעון יום שעה מפתיחת הפעילות במסגרת, על אנשי הצוות החובה להתקשר להורים לבירור שלומו של הילד

בשנים האחרונות חל גידול במספר המקרים בהם נפגעו פעוטות שנשכחו ע"י מבוגרים ברכבים פרטיים וברכבי הסעות. ארגוני בטיחות דוגמת "בטרם" מדווחים על מאות מקרים משנת 2008 ועד מחצית 2011 של השארת ילדים ברכב. פתרון טכנולוגי חדש שצפוי להיכנס לשוק, ייתן פיתרון לתופעה

בעקבות המקרה הנוסף בו נשכחה פעוטה ברכב יפנה יו"ר האיחוד הלאומי חה"כ יעקב כ"ץ (כצל'ה) בשנית לוועדת השרים לענייני חקיקה כדי לאשר את הצעת החוק שלו המחייבת להתקין בכל רכב חיישן שיתריע לנהג על הישארותו של תינוק ברכב
