נמל אשדוד שברה בחודש מרץ שיא חודשי ורבעוני בשינוע מכולות. היקף המכולות בחודש מרץ הסתכם ב- 127,171 TEU, גידול של כ- 3.8% בהשוואה לשיא החודשי הקודם שנרשם בחודש יוני 2015 ועמד על 122,463 TEU.

זהו מספר המכולות הגבוה ביותר ששונע אי פעם בחודש אחד בנמל אשדוד.

השיא החודשי הוביל גם לשיא רבעוני: היקף המכולות ברבעון הראשון של 2016 הסתכם ב- 353,277 TEU, גידול של כ- 3.8% בהשוואה לשיא הרבעוני הקודם שנרשם ברבעון שני ב- 2015 ועמד על 340,464 TEU.

יצחק בלומנטל מנכ"ל בפועל חברת נמל אשדוד מסר כי "הגידול בפעילות החברה בחודש מרץ ממשיך את מגמת הגידול מתחילת השנה בחודשים ינואר ופברואר לעומת אשתקד. אני מאמין כי גם בהמשך השנה נזכה לראות גידול בפעילות לעומת 2015, דבר שיוביל להגדלת הכנסות החברה".
