לאחר דיון ממושך, החליטה המועצה לגבי "תוכנית חסכון" כי זו תמשיך להיות מוכרת כתוכנית תעודה. בנוסף הוחלט כי מנכ"ל הרשות, מנשה סמירה, יפעל באופן הדוק מול הזכיינית בכדי שתעמיק את המרכיבים התיעודיים והתחקיריים בתוכנית, ותעשיר את תכניה בתחומים החברתיים, ובסיקור ותיעוד הפריפרייה.

לגבי התוכנית "לילה כלכלי", החליטה מועצת הרשות השנייה כי ניתן יהיה להכירה כתוכנית תעודה, בתנאי שתעמוד בתנאי נאותות ההפקה הנדרשים לתוכניות תעודה, ובחיזוק ובהגברה של המרכיבים התיעודיים בתוכנית, לרבות כתבות, צילומי חוץ ותחקירים. כמו כן על "ישראל 10" להרחיב את העיסוק בתחומים החברתיים ובסיקור ותיעוד הפריפריה. הוועדה קבעה נקודת בדיקה לבחינת השיפורים הנחוצים בתוכנית בתוך 4 חודשים.

מהרשות השנייה לטלוויזיה ולרדיו נמסר, "ההחלטה משקפת איזון בין הצורך בהקפדה על ההגדרות הקיימות לבין שמירה על היצע תוכן מגוון ואיכותי לציבור. העשרת התוכניות, ובמיוחד בהתייחס לתוכנית "לילה כלכלי" חיונית לשמירת איזון זה ולהבטחת הבידול מתוכניות "חדשותיות".
